Why Use Nitrile Gloves
Time:2023-07-15 Click Volume:

Nitrile Gloves were at first heralded as a solution to a growing minority of people who have developed allergies to the latex proteins that accompany latex gloves. But the truth is, nitrile gloves are not suitable replacements for the latex glove in some situations; the surgical operating room being one of those places. However, nitrile gloves are ideal for environments where resistance to hydrocarbons is critical.

Nitrile gloves have a reputation for not fitting as well as latex gloves. This reputation was earned early in the development of the nitrile butadiene formulae that are used to create the gloves and this reputation was also formed before newer manufacturing processes addressed these early problems. GloveNation is proud to say that all our nitrile gloves are made with advanced NBR formulae and processes that produce the best possible fit for any nitrile glove, while also maintaining superior resistance to oils, fuels and solvents.

There are some applications where nitrile gloves are the only gloves that make sense. Dentists prefer nitrile gloves because of the reduced possibility of allergic reactions for their patients.

Automobile mechanics have been discovering the advantages of wearing nitrile gloves. For years, disposable gloves were considered useless by the automotive industry, because latex simply dissolved when it made contact with grease, oil, disel fuel or gasoline. In addition, wearing gloves might have been considered an effeminate affectation in a field of human endeavor where being macho just naturally comes with being chronically dirty. Enter the digital age. Now, a sparkling clean maintenance facility is an indication that a repair shop might be trusted to have the correct digital diagnostic equipment. Being clean means making money and this tends to change the heart of even the most hardened grease monkey. All of a sudden, we se our nitrile gloves being sold in ever-increasing quantities to automotive manufacturers and service centers everywhere. Nitrile gloves are able to withstand the high temperatures under the hood and they are very resistant to almost all of the chemicals in an automobile's system.

Even the United States government agrees that nitrile gloves are the perfect type of glove for many tasks. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, nitrile gloves are ideal for many toxic tasks:

Nitrile gloves, in contrast, provide a better barrier to paints and organic solvents—the chemicals that are some of the toughest on gloves. Because they protect well and are durable, nitrile gloves (which cost about $10.00 for a box of 100 pairs) offer good value for your safety dollar. Of course, even nitrile gloves would not provide adequate protection against all chemicals for all tasks.
